1956
A defining conversation with his father helped guide George toward architecture, laying the foundation for a lifelong dedication to Architecture.
1964
George first introduction to Architecture was under "William Francis Griffin & Associates" based in Fairfield, CT
1969
George accepted a job offer from "A.J. Palmieri - Architects" based in Bridgeport CT
1972
Upon George earning his architectural license, George established Wiles + Architects, laying the foundation for a lifelong architectural practice.
1975
George finished his Architectural Degree and Graduated from Pratt Institute University located in Brooklyn, New York
1975 - 1976
Wiles + Architects’ inaugural commission was the design of three industrial buildings for United Properties, marking the beginning of the firm’s professional journey.
1993
In recognition of many years of dedicated and productive service, George A. Wiles and his firm were honored for their contributions to the West End Youth Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
1998
In recognition of its design excellence, Wiles + Architects was honored by the American Red Cross for the design of the Southeastern Fairfield County Chapter’s new home.
2001
The Trumbull Agri-Science facility — designed by Wiles Architects — was the recipient of an AIA Connecticut Design Award in 2001.
2005
Wiles + Architects received recognition from the Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center in appreciation of its generous contribution to the special needs playground.
2007
George A. Wiles was recognized for his and his firm’s dedication to enhancing the lives of children with learning differences in the Trumbull community.
2014
Wiles + Architects won the 2014 AIA CT People’s Choice Award for the Black Rock Congregational Church project.
2014
The firm’s work was recognized with Solomon Awards for “Best Design, Installation & Operation”
2017 - Current
George begins mentoring and employing the next generation of designers and architects, fostering a studio culture rooted in collaboration, craft, and purposeful practice.
